Humans for International Projects in Animal Welfare (HIPAW) Humanitourism Project Support

Why give?

Our mission is to create a more connected, compassionate and inspired world. Our projects are all self-funded, and we rely solely on individual and small business donations.

Here's how your donations benefitted some of our recent projects:

  • We were able to transport and donate more than 125 lbs and $5,000 worth of veterinary supplies and distribute to six different animal welfare organizations in Greece.
  • We made a cash donation of $100 for food to the Achaiac Society for the Care of Animals in Patras, Greece
  • We sponsored a Greek veterinarian to perform sterilizations on dogs at the Corfu shelter and donated medical supplies.
  • Donated supplies to the Corfu donkey sanctuary and laid groundwork for projects to help in the future
  • We provided consultation and education on animal care, facilities and procedures to two shelters in Athens, Greece
  • We did some support and educational work for a small traditional farm in rural Greece that is being developed to teach Greek children about food and animals.
  • We worked together with two new organizations to develop programs for 2016. We will work with Save A Greek Stray in Oropos on a mass spay/neuter project for stray dogs and with Skiathos Cat Welfare Association on constructing badly needed improvements on the shelter building at the sanctuary.
  • Rescue, transport and foster for a dog in Athens Greece that had been living in a shelter for over 7 years, nearly all of its life.
  • Spay & neuter for 520 animals in our 5-day spay/neuter clinic together with our Mexican partners
  • Travel, accommodation and meal expenses for a volunteer veterinarian from the U.S. to Mexico
  • Procurement of veterinary supplies for spay/neuter clinic
  • Transportation of veterinary supplies from the U.S. to Mexico
  • Logistical support for our Mexican project partners
  • Veterinary intervention and treatment for injured and sick homeless dogs and cats
  • X rays, tests and additional diagnostics for injured and sick homeless dogs and cats
  • Rescue, transportation and adoption process for four special needs animals to the U.S. who would have died on the streets
  • Full veterinary exams, vaccinations, parasite treatments, preventative flea, tick & worm treatments, diagnostics and other tests for all animals rescued to the U.S.
  • Veterinary treatment and interim foster care for rescued animals upon arriving in the U.S.

Thank you from Sophie!
