HIKE OR SNOWSHOE FOR A CAUSE WITH THE TEAM IN TRANING PROGRAM

Zoe coaches the Rocky Mountain Chapter Hike and Snowshoe Team in Training events, which help to raise money for research to cure blood cancers. Participants agree to fundraise for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in exchange for 12-16 weeks of instruction, planned & guided hikes or snowshoe hikes, clinics on gear, nutrition, Leave No Trace, trail safety and other aspects of getting out on foot or snowshoes in the wilderness. The program culminates with an all-expense paid amazing hike or snowshoe adventure in incredible locations around the country. TNT SNOWSHOE: NOVEMBER 2012-MARCH 2012

Participants in previous TNT Snowshoe programs have raised nearly $80,000 for research to help cure blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma! Now you can join us for your own snowshoe adventure with a series of guided snowshoe hikes this winter, snowshoe gear and preparedness clinics and a fun-filled final event weekend. No prior snowshoeing experience is necessary. We will teach you the basics or advance your existing skills. Our final event is a guided snowshoe adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park. SNOWSHOE DAY ADVENTURE - Saturday, January 21, 2012

Have you been wanting to explore the sport of snowshoeing? Not sure how to start or what gear you need? Not sure where to go? Just looking for others to snowshoe with?

Come out for a day of fun and safe snowshoeing in a local professionally guided snowshoe hike designed for beginners and those who want to learn more about the sport. Learn the basics of snowshoeing, what to wear, how to stay warm and how to stay safe. We'll do a moderately easy snowshoe hike. We will take a pace that enables you to talk to each other and also ask questions about snowshoeing and winter outings basics.

Cost is $35. Lunch is included. Limited to 12 participants.

SKIJOR ONE-DAY CLINIC - Dates TBA

Learn the sport of skijoring as a fun winter workout for you and your dog or dogs. The sport is practiced on cross country skis with a dog or dogs connected in front with a tether system for pulling. Basic cross country ski skills are necessary. See more info and photos here: Skijoring

FLY FISHING FOR WOMEN ONE-DAY COURSE - Spring 2012, Dates TBA

Cast and relax in a comfortable women-only learning environment. You’ll learn all the basics of the equipment, casting, knots, wading and fishing from the shore, plus some advanced skills like selecting flies and different kinds of casting. No experience necessary. Includes fly fishing gear.

BASIC ROCK CLIMBING FOR WOMEN ONE-DAY COURSE - Summer 2012, Dates TBA

Learn the basic skills for safe and fun rock climbing in a women-only setting. You will learn knots, belaying, commands, safety and techniques on the rock. Course will be taught on a toprope.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS - Dates TBA

inside/out runs photo workshops during the year. These workshops are designed for casual, hobby and amateur photographers who want to improve their technical skills and creative eye in an outdoor setting. With nearly 30 years of photography experience, I am ready to help you develop your skills whether you are a beginner or have some previous experience with photography.

You will learn how to make full use of the settings on your camera, the basics of aperture, shutter speed, priority settings, depth-of-field, fill flash and other technical aspects, as well as composition and creative techniques. The workshops will give you the skills necessary to make better images of the scenics and views you discover in the outdoors as well as people in an outdoor or active setting.
